Growing a butterfly buffet - Houston Chronicle

Growing a butterfly buffet - Houston Chronicle: "Gardeners laying out a feast for butterflies often excel in providing a buffet of nectar-rich flowers. That's great grown-up fare, but the menu many times skips the kids' meals - the leafy plants caterpillars munch on.

"When we're infants, we need certain foods; when we're adults, we need certain foods. It's the same with butterflies," says Ridlon "Kip" Kiphart, a trainer for the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project and a conservation educator with Monarch Watch."

  1. Thanks for the tip,
I have noticed that the different butterflies I have raised like very different nectars when they grow.
