Its spring! Time to plant the banana! - Norwich, CT - The Bulletin
The warm temperatures have lured me outside and so I begin my spring with the official planting of the banana. I read somewhere that roses love potassium and that old, soft. spotty bananas are the perfect snack for them. So every year to the great amusement of friends and family I plant a banana about 6 inches down in the soil near a rosebush. Its fun, easy, biodegradable and entertaining. Hope springs eternal that a banana tree will somehow take root but that hasn't happened yet.
