Win tickets to the Orchids and Bromeliads Spring Exhibition | The Budapest Times: "Orchids and bromeliads from around the world will be displayed at Vajdahunyadvár in City Park from this Friday to Sunday. The organisers have been giving away two tickets in The Budapest Times each week in the run-up to the exhibition (see below).
This year’s show is focusing on the wild regions of Indonesia, where exquisite orchids grow at the foot of mountains and by the coast. The archipelago of over 17,000 islands boasts more than 5,000 orchid species. The phalaenopsis, known as the moth orchid, was discovered there. It owes its name to its delicate, moth-shaped flowers, which apparently misled a butterfly collector at first. Indonesia provides perfect conditions for a rich variety of orchids to grow thanks to its changeable weather and diverse landscape.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to seek advice and buy orchids directly from Hungarian or international growers."
