Orchid society's annual show sells, displays the unique bloom | The Advertiser | theadvertiser.com: "For more than 50 years, Acadiana orchid growers have gathered to showcase their flora and swap tips on maintaining the tropical epiphytes that come in more than 20,000 varieties all over the world.

On Saturday the organization held its annual Orchid Show at the Ira Nelson Horticulture Center, showcasing hundreds of species in every imaginable color scheme.

Variety is what makes the orchid so appealing, Janet Gianelloni said. She said she’s been growing orchids for 30 years."
