Nettles found inside caves in China: Survivors from the Ice Age? | Mail Online: "By anyone's standards, the nettles at the back of caves in Yunnan and Guanxi provinces in China are odd plants - they can survive in light conditions 0.02 per cent of normal, near-total darkness.
Outside, the environment is tropical - which hints that there is something VERY odd about the plant's evolution.
Researchers now believe that the plant could even have weathered the last ice age inside the cave - making them a very unique species indeed."
