Move plants indoors gradually in autumn | Gardening | Homes | London Free Press: "Tropical plants are known for their exotic appearance, adding interest and depth to your home and garden.

As autumn arrives and the nights begin to get cooler, it's time to consider which plants should be brought indoors and over-wintered until spring.

Tropical plants such as hibiscus, oleander, mandevilla and citrus (lemon or lime trees) are a few of the plants you may want to bring in before the cold weather arrives.

Other tropical plants may include palm trees and ferns such as Kimberley queen fern. Leaving these types of plants outdoors at night, in temperatures below 10 C, will quickly cause them to perish."
