Shrinking plants solves space issue

Shrinking plants solves space issue: "It’s my annual autumn dilemma: I want to over-winter my favorite varieties of lantana, tropical hibiscus and many other cold-sensitive plants but have only one corner of the utility room available for a nursery.

The solution is to shrink the plants. It’s an autumn ritual I perform not for fun, but of necessity: cutting back cold-sensitive plants — even their roots — to fit small pots so I can over-winter them in my limited indoor space.

The method works so well that many favorite plants are now more than a quarter of a century old and still bloom their hearts out every summer in the garden."
